The safety of our customers and staff is of paramount importance and we are closely monitoring the news, information, advice and guidance from the World Health Organisation as well as local authorities regarding the spread of the Coronavirus. As always, our priority is to ensure we meet customer needs while doing our part to keep you and our employees safe.

Nationwide Vehicle Rentals is recognised as an essential service provider that remains open to meet critical transportation and personal mobility needs. We’re here to serve those who need a vehicle and to help frontline responders including healthcare professionals and emergency responders, and to continue to aid those who move critical goods and provide invaluable services during this global health crisis.

In order to continue providing this service, in continuation of measures put in place at the beginning of the Coronavirus outbreak, we will only be able to offer delivery and collection of vehicles by one of our drivers, to a location of your choice, as arranged in advance. Vehicles will likewise be disinfected before and after each rental. With these measures, we hope to maintain our standards, and preserve the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in the rental process.

Accordingly, our office will only welcome customers by appointment only. Unfortunately, we will not be able to address walk-in enquiries. To avoid disappointment, please call or e-mail ahead of your intended visit, and we will in turn confirm whether your visit will be possible, in accordance with social distancing guidelines. Please consult our FAQs (below) and opening hours, and call or e-mail us at your convenience, and we will do our best to answer any queries.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Will my booking after 5th January be cancelled?
No, Nationwide Vehicle Rentals will remain open throughout the lockdown, and rentals will still go ahead, unless you are otherwise advised.

Will NVR take new bookings during the lockdown?
Yes, we will be operating as normal during the lockdown.

If I cancel my booking, will I receive a refund?
If your booking is cancelled within 48 hours of your delivery date, you will be liable for the full cost of the booking. If reasonable notice is given, we will do our best to refund you appropriately.

Can I collect the vehicle from your location?
Due to government guidelines, we will not be accepting vehicle collections from our offices. We will deliver the vehicle to your chosen location, and pick it up from the same, unless otherwise agreed.

How do you protect customers?
Each vehicle is disinfected with wipes before and after each rental. This is focused on hard surface areas such as the steering wheel area but can include the dashboard, gearstick and handbrake. Our drivers are also disinfecting or washing their hands as often as they can and will wear masks where it is appropriate to do so.

Are any of your services affected by the lockdown?
To reduce numbers of staff in offices, many of our customer services team are working from home, so you may experience a delay when getting in touch with this departments. Please be patient if you are awaiting a response – we will get back to you as soon as we can.
